Global Homeless Initiative founded Phoenix Village as our flagship in California to assist homeless members of our community, and soon across the globe. Phoenix Village is a self-help community for the homeless and unsheltered. We are offering a way for people to not only get back on their feet, but rise up like a phoenix!
In January 1978 Bill completed eight years of military service, at which time he received his honorary discharge from the Air Force as a Staff Sargent. During his service in the Air Force, he ran a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitations program for four years. After his military service, Bill spent Ten years in Retail Management, where he departed from his career as a National Sales Manager, after multiple promotions. His next career course led him into financial services in banking, real-estate, and mortgage lending. Bill soon established his own successful real-estate business until he moved to Visalia in 2007, after meeting his wife, of now fifteen years, Deborah.
After relocating to Visalia, Bill went back into retail sales. Soon his love for helping others guided him back into the position of Substance Abuse Counselor at California State Prison (COR) in Corcoran CA. In March 2010, Bill and Deborah Robinson started a non-profit organization, Transitional Life Coach Advocacy Services (TLC). Deborah, a Registered Nurse with thirty-six years in healthcare, has a master’s degree in Nursing Education from Walden University. She has worked as an educator at College of the Sequoias, San Joaquin Valley College, and Kaplan NCLEX-RN test prep. Deborah, has also volunteered her expertise as a guest speaker for healthcare education for other local non-profits, schools, and churches.
Today, based on what he feels is Devine Inspiration, Bill has designed Global Homeless Initiative. The goal of this program is to impact homelessness worldwide. This ambitious, comprehensive program has started with dedicated volunteers who believe that God has called us to help our brothers and sisters. Our core volunteers are, J.D. a local family man, D.E. local wife and mother, O.C a local entrepreneur with business connections around the world in India, Nigeria, and the Philippines. We have input from a retired city planner, a grant writer, and a minister. Now, we need you! Please join us, as we make a difference in someone’s life, one person at a time!
Stay tuned for more information with autobiographies on our volunteers, updates on our fundraisers, and our progress as we work together to improve the lives of others through action and faith.
